Replaced Oil Pan Gasket Tonight.

Default Replaced Oil Pan Gasket Tonight.

Well it took 2 hours and so far no leaks. The old one was really cracked. Not a hard job, but really oilly.

good god why did it take so long? did they have RTV all over it? that stuff sucks to get off.

took long b/c he had to remove the fly wheel cover. I'm about to take mine off and weld on oil return line. those damn 3 screws near the tranny are such a bitch

It took so long because it wasn't on a lift and I have 3 feet of working space and no air tools.

did you only use rtv to seal it? or rtv+rubber gasket? or just the rubber gasket to seal it?

i keep hearing one ways better than another...

Hondabond...there is no substitute.

Congrats BTW....I made a pact with myself long ago that I was done doing OPG and exhaust installs on my back...that work justs sucks!

I used just the gasket. There was none on there.I was told not to use any.

hey got a ? I replaced my gasket tonight and after I started it started leaking did you use any RTV or anything and I couldnt find torque specs and what order to tighten in so that might be the problem do you know those? Thanks

I did'nt use anything but the gasket on mine and had no problems. I started from the middle and worked my way out in a cris cross parern.

you have screws going into your tranny? never seen that before... only bolts hmmm
