Default d16a6 or mini me?

So what you guys think would have more potential? Both would be mildly built up... I have a crx so the a6 would be easier.... Anyway, opinions and feedback please.

Well, mini-me would just be so that you could have the VTEC. VTEC is really only necessary for everyday driving, because you want the low-RPM torque and high RPM horsepower...well with an A6 you can just get a monster cam and have high RPM HP. I some well-built D16A6's and they are running very well...

like bauleyCivic said, you can get more "monster" cams for the A6.
for example, we have 2 grinds of SOHC VTEC cams and we have 5 diff grinds of cams for the A6 that are from mild to all out race cam.
We have done crazier A6's since its easier to design a wilder cam cuz it doesnt have the VTEC function.

Along with the lumpy cam for the A6, drop in A1/P29 pistons for some good compression. That would be a very nice setup....

Personally, I am very happy with my SOHC VTEC setup. I get excellent torque (for a 1.6L! ), and great high-end power as well. If I get a new cam (Zex?), I should still be able to keep the good low end umph, but supposedly I can get even better mid range power, and great high end as well.

But the drawbacks on a SOHC VTEC setup is price, tuning, and hassle. It took me a looong time to tune mine (butt-dyno) to provide satisfactory results, and it cost me a little too much for the electronics.

So, in all honesty, sticking with the A6 will give you the best bang for your buck.

Good Luck!
