suspension bushings
ok, i did a bunch of searches and still have some questions.
im trying to put a set of coilover shocks on, and of course, the rear trailing arm bushing is siezed; so, im going to replace it with either the mugen or es bushings.
i need to know if replacing any of the other suspension bushings is really worth it, or necessary.
should i just replace the trailing arm bushings, or if i replace any of the other bushings will i see significant gains in handling - if so, which ones supply the most bang for buck?
are the mugens really that much better than the es? ive read that installation of the es bushings is quite a PITA, they squeek, have to be greased often (im lazy
), and wear out quickly; whereas, the mugens are just like oe bushings only harder - but way more expensive.
or, should i just get the es master busing set and be done with it?
thanks in advance for your help

the es master set is really nice. I have it and think it was a worthwhile investment, two reasons why:
1. My car being a 92' the bushing were all shot anyways, MUCH cheaper to buy a master kit rather than paying for OEM parts piece by piece.
2. The improved handling characteristics really have made the car much more fun to drive, granted this could have been solved just as much with replacing my worn out bushing with stock ones, but the beefier bushings seem much more conducive to performance/spirited driving.
The problem with replacing all of them, BITCH to get at. You will cuss, you will get dirty, you will cuss, you will scrap your knuckles, oh did I mention you will cuss! It is tough work but the end result is VERY worth it. Glad I spent the time doing it! Hope this helps............
PS. I also installed grease fittings in as many places as I could as urethane bushings are prone to squeak!

i ordered mine through http://www.fastasknutz.com , think I paid like $125.....................
urethane is great for performance, terrible for ride quality. urethane will transmit every bump, jiggle, shake, vibration throughout the car. mugen is hard rubber. Rubber provides a smoother ride than urethane and doesn't have the vibration problems, or squeaking problems. However it won't perform quite as well as urethane.
Personally, I'm planning on going with mugen hard rubber. I seriously doubt that many people's driving skill is good enough that they can tell the diff between polyurethane bushings and a good set of hard rubber bushings.
