how hard is it to swap cams, springs, retainers?????
im gonna be putting skunk 2 ti retainers, valve springs, junII cams into my b16a head...can i just follow the manual and consider them as bolt ons or do i have to do clearances and all kinds of measuring for the cams to fit properly?
i know how to get the springs off and swap the springs and retainers but what is involved with the cams?
also when i take the springs out the valves will drop when i put them back in do they have to be seated a certain way or do i just push them up and install the springs retainers and clip?
this is my first time building a head and im pretty confident i can do it im just trying to understand whats involved

thats the first time I've ever heard that. wow! changing springs is way more complicated than cams. Just make sure to check your valves when its done and you'll be fine. Clearances however, are another issue. What kind of skunk cam are you thinking about?

my recomendations would be to remove the head ,make sure all the valves are seating 100 % and you could even swap in type r valves in at this time.
Do it once and do it right.
Removing the springs and retainers on the Honda twin cam with the head on the motor and you are asking for trouble. The valve stems are so thin ,the risk of bending one is great.
We have removed many heads from the do it yourselfers.
