Default VAFC ODB2 Myth... fact or fiction?

If I install a VAFC and tune my car, will the ODBII ECU compensate for the changes and set the fuel back to where it was before I started?

Edit: I did do a search and found a lot of people arguing about this, but no clear answer.

I've never heard of that myth...Alot of people have success tuning OBDII cars with a VAFC including me.

No problems when I had mine.

Now the Pig on the other hand, if I adjust the base wastegate setting, the ECU will see the extra boost as a vacuum leak and adjust itself

I have heard this myth as well. I was told that you had to reset your ecu on a regular basis to beat obd2. To me this seems to be an unreliable fix. Why not run a p28, with the vafc?

From my understanding, even if you run a P28, that won't avoid the ECU from compensating the changes you made since it still runs in closed loop. The real solution is to run an ECU that's permanently open loop.

I have had my VAFC for a while and i have not had any problem. If the car's ecu recompensates for the changes i will be able to hear VTEC again!

on partial throttle, yes the factory ECU will adjust short and long term fuel trims to try and acheive ideal A/F but @ WOT, no.

If that were the case, then all the boosted VAFC 'hack' users will be **** out of luck ... I've used it, and it's fine. The only people having problems are the ones who installed it wrong, or have no real idea of what they're doing

I had problems tunning the fuel wit the VAFC, currently going to OBD1. No amtter what adjustments were made with the VAFC the A/F did not change. I put up a post about it, I'll try to find it.
