I bought one from some crowd called 'cosmo racing', a nice red anodised one, it fitted 100% and i'm delighted with it! It was slighlty dearer at around $75 but worth it as it fitted so well I've had 3 short ram ebay intakes and been more than satisfied with each of them although i have used my own filters for them all.

a pipe is a pipe...the only reason why aem's are soo much more is because all you're really buying is that damn CARB sticker(but since you're in ct, it wont matter anyways). just make sure the diameter is the proper size, and you're set. like you said, you already have a good filter, so it shouldnt be a problem. (i know ppl with these ebay intakes and they work fine. just get a good filter)

i got a ebay cai. the piping was good, but i think the filter is not the same as a k & n.
the filter i got with the cai is the same style, but the pink/red material feels harder then a k&n. like its much cheaper or a whole different material completely. anyways, i dont know if it has the same amount of breathing capacity, seeing as i havnt tried a k&n.

I bought a cai from cosmo racing and got the same results that i got from my iceman intake. A pipe is a pipe. Maybe on other cars an intake would make a big difference but "aem" cai designs seem to all produce the same results.

Isn't K&N the producer for "generic brand" and Name brand intakes? It all looks K&N to me..-=\ Correct me if im wrong.

(wells, of course comptech, greddy, etc, has their own style too)

I doubt it's K&N. Almost eveyrthing is made in China/Taiwan.

Yea, ebay CAI's are fine. The only thing you might consider is replacing the filter with an actual K&N filter. Most of them come with a K&N STYLE filter but not a real thing.... Other than that...

I bought Bomz CAI about a year ago on ebay.
The chrome on the pipe doesn't look as good as the Akimono intake but it doesn't look bad either.
As for fitment it doesn't rub onto anything if that's what you're asking.

a tip from me might be to get an AEM sticker and put it on the generic intake that way cops wont give you a ticket. ofcourse this onyl works for the stupid cops and around here there are a fiew of those. better safe then sorry.

if you are in california, make sure you buy one with the CARB sticker, otherwise it's all the same with minor gain/loss amongst each other.

I bought that same CAI for a friend and he loves it. He said there were definite improvements over stock. I personally have an AEM and probably wouldnt have bought it if i didnt get a break on the price brand new.

i bought it from that same guy... it works well, but fitting was kind of messed up, when i reversed or idled, the cai would rattle against the area it goes down the bumper.. i fixed it with some padded stuff. i would get AEM if i had the $

those cai on ebay are great. the filters are kinda cheap, but for the price you can't beat it. i used it and they are the same. only difference is that the aem has the carb sticker.
