okay i am in the process of putting in a front strut bar... im not sure if they gave me the wrong one or im just dumb and cant get it on. it seems as if it is about 3-4 inches too short one way, or too big the other way. can anyone please give me some instructions or even some pictures to help me?? i will be back in a few to post pics of my problem.

What brand did you get and what year is your car?

 

i have a 98 but i dont know the brand.... its just a basic strut bar, a local shop in town buys some i think AC autotechnic things in a deal and puts thier name on it. but hey for only 60 bucks for front and rear they are ok bars for now. oh it kind of looks like the DC sports style but its not DC sports.

 

DOH, sorry for asking about the year hehe. Anyway, if it's too long or too short, backwards or the right way, i think you should return it and have it replaced with a new set but test fit it before you leave the shop.

 

How big is "too big" when you put it on? It might be like an 1" too long.

If you jack up the jack and put one side, you should be able to slip the other side on the shock mounting points if you push the shock assembly inward a bit.

okay whoever made the bar made them wrong. the shop ordered about 100 or so and they are all useless. the bar doesnt fit no matter what. so now i will just get a type r strut bar. thanks for all the
help.
