Is it OBD1 XSi??

If not, then it's just like every other B16. I've got a first gen XSi motor myself.

I dont understand the question, you want to know if the wiring for the XSi matches the b16?

Maybe you need general info about wiring the b16 harness into your car?

The tranny usually, and the XSi motor has some extra vacuum routings (like the UP dashpot)... lol. So if your tranny isn't a Y1, then usually you've gotten a Teg motor.

Hmm. Not sure what generation XSI it is. The tranny is the ys1. My problem is the engine wiill not start. I had my car wired for the first b16a i had. Then i put the Xsi engine in and didint change any wiring. Although i did change out the Dizzy with the original b16 one. The Xsi currently doesnt have a knock sensor in. Only thing not hooked up is the vacuum hoses into the intake manifold. Its getting plenty of spark. Not sure what the problem is. Thnx for any help guys. Cars been down for 6 months. finally got engine in and wont start.

i also have an xsi with a ys1 tranny, from wat i can tell there is no diff in motors...
but you said that you changed the dist.
be sure that you lined up the rotor that connects to the cam...
there are two lines that should match up...
if you dont line them up it wunt start...
i forgot to do it before

b16's from a ef8 or ef9 have b16a stamped along with a serial # starting with 5xxxxx

the xsi b16a's are stamped with a serial # 1xxxxxxx

and unless you bought the swap along with the front clip it is kinda hard to find out which tranny you have be it the y1 s1 or j1 if the little sticker is missing..

If it has spark and no fuel, check the small ground wire that goes to the thermostat housing.

speaking of transmissions. I need an S1 tranny for my B16 CRX, anyone selling one? Otherwise I will have to sell my car and buy a Peon SRT-4 for '04.

No, that gear oil is waaaay to thick for a honda trans. Your best bet is OEM honda MTF. If you just need something to throw in there for the time being, 10-30 is the correct weight oil.

for a really smooth running tranny use the GM syncromesh friction modified it makes the shifts feel like butter.
