eehh my amp messed up again.
i was runnin some 12s off this xplod amp. (same thing happend to my rockford amp so its not jus cuz sony sucks) but it was working fine for 1 day. then just a minute ago i go back out to my car and turn it on and the light comes on but it dims about half way in about 30 seconds of playing. and no more sound comes out. same thing happend to my rockford amp. whats causing this.
Check your power and ground with a meter. Check it with the car running and the amp playing at moderate volume. You could have a bad connection somewhere. When power flows through a bad connection it causes heat. Heat causes an even worse connection. Its a vicious circle untill the amp doesnt have enough power to play. If you do have a bad connection, check everything that has do with power for the amp (connection at the battery, fuse holder, connections in the fuse holder, the fuse itself, etc.)
i would say to check all your connections make sure that you have a good power and ground is your powerwire fused or not and also what gauge are you using??? you might wanna get a bigger alternator and what ohm are your subs wired ? what is your amps power rating and what ohm level is it stable? there could bew alot of things wrong . realblag has the most logical reasoning but if thats not it then maybe check what i said .. good luck man and let us know what you find!
well i fouind out my sony amp just had a bad ground. but i dont nkow about the rockford, i might try to ground it somewhere else to see what happens. the thing is i had an amp hooked up to the same ground for like 6 months.
