Default idoits at tire shop damaged my fuel tank

i dont understand how some people can not have common sense. how can anyone think of lifting up the rear of the car by pickin it up from the fuel tank. DAMN IT!! usually i would have taken off the tires and taken them to the tire shop to get them changed but i did not have time cause of school.
well i took the car to change the rear tires and left to get something to drink and when i came back i saw the lude lifted up with a jack. then i went to take a look and i was " what the **** are you doin". then the guy was like wat. then i explain to him that he dent my fuel tank. ******* MORON. well i talked to manager and he gave me the two tires for free.
well it is not leekin nothin, but now the fuel guage reads low. i know this cause the manager and i went to fell it up. i had about 3/4 full and it only took like 3 gallons. what could this be guys? HELP ME BEFORE I GO POSTAL!!!!!

depending on the size of the dent, it could have lowered the capacity of the fuel tank. as long as its not leaking you should be okay, but i would try to have the shop replace it for free.

Try this......my ex-stepdad worked for a race team a couple years back. They used to use an air compressor and spray nozzle to "expand" the tank some. From what I remember they just stuck the nozzle in the filler tube with a rag wrapped around it to seal it up. It might work enough to give most of your tank back.

A reputable shop would pay to repair the damage they caused, and throw in the tires for free. Go back to the shop and threaten to sue unless they pay to replace the gas tank, reguardless if it is leaking or not It does not matter, you did not get your car back in the same mechanical condition as you gave it to them. Do not try to repair it yourself. They were irresponsible enough to not use the incorrect jack piont which should be common knowledge in a tire shop as they lift cars all day, so now they are responsible to replace 'thier' indiscrestion. Pursue it dude.

i'm with gerhard on this. down to the t. go back to the shop and tell them that they need to replace it free of charge or they'll be held up in court for it. either way it's their fault. seriously what kind of idiot jacks up a car by the gas tank?

Also how can you be sure that the tank wont start leaking in the future? Might have caused a small crack somewhere that now will rust and start to leak. What the **** what the guy thinking? I mean you would have to try to put the jack on the tank! There is a tow hook you can use about 3" away. Go postal! J/K get them to pay for that. Or tell them you want free tires for life

Yeah, don't even begin to think about repairing it yourself!! As soon as you touch it to make a repair but don't the dumb f**ks at the tire shop will say that you might have made things worse.......

Take it straight back there and get them to repair or replace. And if after that they don't mention about paying for the tires....well you've scored! If they do.....tell them they've got a f**king cheek and they'll probably drop it - OUT OF PURE EMBARRESSMENT - call themselves mechanics! PAH!
