are you doing OBD-II or OBD-I?

My friend has OBD-II LSVTEC and switches between a P73 ITR ECU and a P2T 99 Si ECU...the ITR ECU has a permanent check engine light because the immobilizer had to be removed when it was taken out of the original car.
