Default b20/vtec....thoughts on setup.....

block:
b20
85.5mm 12.1 je's
head:
P&P portflow gsr head stock valves
crower springs/retainers
toda B's
skunk IM
rc TB 68mm
rc 310cc/hondata
jdm 4to1 header
this motor after just 1 hour of dyno put down 193whp, 145ftlbs do you think this motor with more tuning could get near 210whp, maybe with some diff cams??

I have a similar setup, but have been having ecu probs so I won't dyno it till next month. I will be running Hondata as well, but my shop recommended just sticking with CTR intake and ITR exhaust cams, keep asking around the more aggressive cams might not work so well with the hi compression pistons. I stuck with 10:1 .20 over wiseco(not positive the exact size of the pistons), but if I am not putting out well over 200 WHP I will be pissed. Who did you have program ur Hondata?

i basically bought this engine off of a friend of mine......the hondata was tuned by ground zero in portland, and it was tuned for 1 hour to get the car running, not messed with a bunch, thats why i'm wondering if i have someone else tune it and do a full tune if i can get over 200whp

You're probably going to be pissed. 10:1 and CTR cams. Gonna be tough to break 200 w/ that.

Go make one pass on a 248C and see if you are happier.

U probably will get more hp out with more tuning on your Hondata. As far as the last few, answer his q's don't worry about my setup, cause I am not. I was advised to stay with 10:1 if I wanted to run pump gas and be able to drive without tuning constantly. 10:1 .2 over in the b20 will put out plenty for me. I will let u all know when it is dynoed

Your setup is similar to mine except your pistons are bigger & you have slightly more compression than me. i dynoed slightly under 200whp with DC JDM 4-1.
I went out & got DTR header & have yet to dyno. I am aiming for 210-215. check up with me in a few days to see if I have dynoed yet.
Peace

You can find more power with that setup. Here was my setup last year.
84mm bore 13.0 cr
dpr head with portflow/itr valvetrain
.5 over stainless valves
Toda b's
skunk intake manifold
68mm tbody
smsp header
370 cc injectors.
With just a sgt basemap in my hondata and a few fuel changes, I hit 220 154. We didnt touch timing or anything else. You can see that my a/f was still way off.
You cat see it on the plot but it was over 100 degrees that day too.

how the hell are you guys running on b20 sleeves bored out that much. the b20 sleeves are so thin as they are in 84mm and people have cracked them at that, so i dont get how u increase the bore and run a higher compression and get away with it, unless you are sleeved and there is somthing i missed.

I'm laying my engine out and I'm thinking 85.5mm bore (one rebuild before another resleeving), DTR OTS2000 header, xxx intake manifold, 68mm tbrottle body, 12.8:1 Endyn Wisecos, and am working on the camshafts with someone currently. I'll be satisfied with 210whp.

I think a better header like smsp, hytech or DTR will help you get 210whp.
I have a DTR myself, made more whp over the JDM DC.
