engine swap
im going to change my 93 coupe ex stock engine (140k miles) to something fresh and faster, any suggestions?(3k and below-all i got) also since ive never done a swap before is there anywhere u guys know of in tennessee that is safe to get it done?
Well you could...
1- Rebuild it to factory spec. and Turbo it
2- Rebuild it with a better bottom end and Turbo it
3- Swap out for a B16A
4- Swap out for a B18B/B20B
3 & 4 won't leave you much money to mess with afterwards though if you wanna run FI, those are the ones I'd go for. Otherwise I'd have to stick to a rebuilt version of my D16 and boost it

ok im prolly gonna swap in a b16a, if im correct it has 168 hp? also where can i get this done at, i know i cant do it myself, and i want a trust worthy place, somewhere in tennessee if possable
B16a is 160H. 170 if they are from the SiR (B16A2) Usually the salvage yards get the B16's from older japanese CRX and civics. You can get complete swap for around 1200.

I was refering to the older B16A. I got mine for 750 for engine only. But they do average around 1200. B16A2 can be had for about 2300 if you look hard enough. And I did the labor myself... final cost was under 2K (HASport 450)

ya the full change should run 3kish
for just the straight parth (engine tranny and ecu) dont pay more than 2700 if you get the b16a2 (the SiRII) . the most important thing you can do is SHOP AROUND. http://www.hasport.com/engine_sources.htm
those are some of the best prices around.
