Default need some help , preludes in trouble

was coming home late a few nites ago on the hwy and saw a audi playing around and accelerating like crazy so pushed the car...hit speeds in excess of 240 km/h ... went back and forth with him for a while then had to exit and the engine started making bad noises.
the car idles properly but if you rev it up a bit then a bad knock sounds comes from the engine. Friends saying its a rod knock (not sure what that is ) and he said a shop here in toronto will charge approx $2000 to fix it. If thats that case I think id be better off buying another motor??
Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance.

btw, its a 95 sr-v with i/h/e

Is your timing belt loose? That rattling noise could be your tensioner. Just an idea...

take it to Gilman Auto in Scarborough and talk to Ray. He will tell you what is wrong and tell you the best option. He owns and races an SR-V, he will know exactly what's wrong.

hahahah.. what a coincidence that you said that. Because I was going to take it there for the exact same reasons..and also that a few serious cars from my street I have seen also all go there.
I talked to him last week, probably gonna have it towed there by monday.

but thanks for the good advice anyways.

Yeah Ray is one of the few I trust with my car. He put my engine in. He won't bullshit you.

yeah...always heard good things about Ray.

I thought of maybe upgrading the motor and getting more power out of it somehow while its gonna be in the shop.
After I/H/E whats the next best thing to do for power that still has reliabilty and wont cost way too much..

And suggestions for what modificatios to do?
Thanks
