What should I get for Rear Speakers in an Integra?
I have 6.5" Alpine componenets up front and I am satisfied with their sound for the cost. I can either keep them there and get a less expensive set for the back or put them in the back and get a new set of comps up front.
Here are the choices:
SPR-174A Target Retail Price US $180.00/CN $299.00
6-1/2" Type-R Coaxial 2-Way Speaker
SPR-176A Target Retail Price US $250.00/CN $399.00
6-1/2" Type-R Component 2-Way Speaker
One is components, one is not. I will NOT be mounting the tweeters. The speakers run off of my Alpine MRV-F340 Amp. Its a 4 channel unit that puts out 55 watts at 4 ohm.
Please let me know what you think.

Between those two? I would buy the top ones for the rear and leave your seperates in the front. If you want to spend more money then put seperates in the rear too, though it's not necessary.
Other speakers I would choose Infinity kappas. I have yet to hear a better sounding set of seperates.

Do the Type R componets have a coax mount? If so you can mount them in the rear with the tweeters. I don't think you will like the sound without the tweeters.
These are INFINITY Reference 6002si.
Here are the specs

Would they sound the same or should I get the Alpine's?

I agree...why not sell what you've got in there right now. Take the money you get for them and the money you had planned on spending on the new speakers and use that to buy a better set for the front.
I've had front speakers only in my civic for the past year and i dont think i'd ever go back.

im not that big of an audio freak....
i just want to get a crisp and clear sound without spending thousands
what is the benefit of having more power go up front and not having rears at all?

I'm in the process of getting a new amp so I am only running my two fronts right now. CANT STAND IT. my stock system before was not time corrected, but my aftermarket system is and you can truely hear each individual speaker. It drives me crazy when I turn on the stereo and can't hear anything from the back, I would rather listen to nothing.
You want both front and back, balance = clarity
Type r's
Infinity perfects
(more money)

What do you think about these:
Kappa Series KAPPA62.5I 6-1/2" 2-way multielement loudspeaker pair
Kappa Series KAPPA63.5I 6-1/2" 3-way multielement loudspeaker pair
Do I need a 3 way in the back? Will a 2 way be good enough to get the job done?

I had fronts only in my comp civic and I have to say rears add more depth to the sound. Besides if you have fronts and rears you can always just disconnect the rears
Guys...what do you think....
One of these for the back:
$ 65 - Reference Series REF6002SI 6-1/2" Two-way shallow mount
$ 80 - Kappa Series KAPPA62.5I 6-1/2" 2-way multielement loudspeaker pair
$100 - Kappa Series KAPPA63.5I 6-1/2" 3-way multielement loudspeaker pair
$110 - Alpine SPR-174A 6-1/2" Type-R Coaxial 2-Way Speaker
Help me pic one and order it...
The 6002si is tempting because its just a slim design...

Yea...its pretty much between the alpines and the 6002si....
I like the fact that they are inexpensive/cheap and have a slim design...

The infinity reference loudspeakers are some of the best sounding mids that I have ever heard. I have a set of their 5 1/4's in my si and love them. Definately go with the 6002si's. For the price you can't beat them!
