I live in springfield mo. I have yet to come accross a reputable tuner but would also like to find one near by. I remember seeing an impressive turbo eclipse on the web that said it was built by a place called light speed in St. Louis, but again no first hand experience.
try Adrenaline Motorsports in St. Charles...or Performance By Design in Shawnee Mission KS (just over the state line) Forward thust isn't bad...i've never heard anything bad out of the guys there...I"m in Warrensburg which is like north of you 2 and a half hours.
How close are you to Chicago? I kow its outta your way, but AMS in chicago can hook it up....Http://www.automotsports.com, AEM dealer, dynojet dyno. They are DSM guys, but they have tuned several hondas as well...
Avoid Lightspeed...
Honestly, I have yet to find a good tuner in the STL area that I trust that actually has a shop and such. I have a nice connection to an actual SCCA race team that has their own awd dynapack in their garage, and they can tune just as good as anyone, but the facility isn't for public use.
If you're not far from Chicago, you could always check out AMS or Garage Kwai. Both have in-house dynojets, both are good shops. Kwai's tuner/owner, Benson, does a decent job.
However, in my opinion, I suggest learning how to tune on your own. Start off by reading the tuning articles over at team-integra.net from MichaelDelaney in the Performance Section. After reading and understanding those, find a dyno w/a wideband O2 close-by, and go from there.
