Hey everyone.. my 90' EXR came with A/C and i want to take it out because it is just extra weight.. it is easy to take off cuz it has its own belt to the crank.. although i was wondering if not having it on there will trigger off any sensors or give any engine lights if its disconnected,.. or if i would have any problems at all?
thanks alot..
thanks alot..
There shouldn't be any problems. Check a Helms or Haynes manual and be sure.
One thing though, make sure it's discharged by a pro first. Then remove all the piping, condenser, A/C bracket, etc. It is weight in the front, which is probably the best kind of weight to remove for our cars

i think all of the **** has leaked out cuz i bought the car with no fluid inside.. like the guy told me if i wanted A/C i would have to get it recharged.. so.. what should i do.??
i dunno where you live but here in georgia when it gets humid in the summer time i would die without A/C. heck its almost november and i used mine today. i would still have someone attempt to discharge it. if i were you, i would just keep the a/c and get it recharged, you might need it one day. but hey thats just me, to each his own
anyone have any ideas on what I should do about my car that I'm parting out, I need to remove the A/C from it, but I've never discharged one, and umm...well, let's put it this way, the car ain't goin nowhere. (tree fell on it)

If it's an ex-r, it's in canada, right?
do you guys even use an air conditioner there?
Just release the pressure by removing the pressure via the low pressure schrader valve. use a tire stem remover and push on the pin in the middle, like deflating a tire. then remove. Then proceed to remove all AC lines. Leave the compressor in there until you have the correct belt to replace the alternator belt with.
then remove the glove box and take off the condensor. Sell em all on ebay for a quick buck. :D

Yeah, we do. Well, depending on the location. In Toronto at least, it can still get really hot for 2 months or so of the summer. Plus, it's useful for dehumidifying.
The humidity and smog in the summer can get pretty bad
I need to get the hell away from this city.
