Quick!! VIN question???
I have a friend that need to change out his dash, because his car was broken into and they put a hole in his dashboard. He got a replacement dash, but his uncle is telling him that it is illegal to take that vin off. What should he do about this. What do you all do about the vin no. on a replacement dash?

thats what i did...drill out the rivets and replace with small screws. if its illegal, just dont tell anybody... if your worried go ask a cop about it.

I have the same dilemma too. My brother just bought a '91 Civic and it has a CRX dash swapped in. The VIN is from the CRX. Luckily, we have the Civic dash too, but is it necessary to swap the VIN. Or better yet is it even legal to remove the VIN?
