Default Need some quick Ground Control help....

I installed my Ground Control coilovers with my stock shocks. Everything seems to be fine, except for a rattle/banging noise coming from the rear area. It's only audible at surface street speeds, not when I'm on the freeway. Even the slightest bump seems to cause it, almost like something is shifting and hitting metal. It's not real loud...more of a tapping/rattling noise. It shifts from one side to another if I jerk the wheel side to side. I have the ride height at about 3/4 above the rear tires. The only thing I can think of is either the sleeve banging around inside the cup of the shock (it wasn't a tight fit), or the dust boot hitting the top of the sleeve. I only trimmed the dust boot to where the metal part of the dust boot starts since I didn't have anything to cut them with. That left them about an inch or so longer than the 1 1/2" GC says to cut them. Any suggestions before I pull everything apart? If its the sleeve in the base of the cup on the shock, I think I'll just wrap it in duct tape so it's tight. If it's the dust boot, I'll pull it off completely and try it that way, and if it solves the problem, then I'll find a way to cut them and reinstall. Does this sound like a rational deduction? Thanks guys....

since you said it wasnt a tight fit between the sleeve and the shock, it may be the the source of the problem. i would double check.

ditto, i would also take off the metal dust boot. they are not necessary.
