Default just a point of advice (VTEC solonoid related)

Don't overtighten the VTEC solonoid to the head. I went through about 5 gaskets before I realized that the reason I kept blowing them is because I was tightenin it too much. The torque spec for it is 8.7 ft.lbs. Just thought I would share this info.

completely unrelated, but make sure you read the right line in the service manuals too. like the cam gear bolt torques to something like 37 ft. lbs on the d16z6. of course the next line down is the crank pulley bolt at well over a hundred... needless to saym, i had to take the cam to the machine shop to get the rest of the bolt drilled out

oh yeah, another thing I found out. If you notice that when your driving and you come to a stop, the idle drops really low and then bounces back up to 750-ish, make sure you have the check valve that runs to your dash pot "on" and "in the right position". this made a huge diff with my idle. I had the check valve backwards.
