Default B16 for 800$

Ok here it is.. A friend of mine wants to know if i want to buy his b16 motor from him for 800 bucks. He has a GSR tranny but he's says he's keeping that. Now he said thats the price for me, but for anyone else it would be more.. Now i want to know.. Is that the best deal i'm gonna find and if so how much am i lookin at for the install. He has the engine in his garage and he has to move so he can't take it with him. He heard me talkin about saving for a b18. so he said i should try this engine for awhile........oh yea i have a 00 EX.. what do think????

He already said he has a GSR tranny.

Anyway, 1st gen B16? 2nd gen? Head, block, or long block. How many miles. Have you checked it out? I would offer 600 and rebuild the b*tch...

yes it is a good deal. but what u need to do is install the motor yourself. it isnt that hard. it will bolt right up to your car, all you need to do is get a repair manual to tell you what certain wires are. dont waste your money having some1 do the swap for you, do it yourself and you will be much happier and then you will gain knowledge that will be with you for your life.

Are you putting it in yourself....if so i would highly recommend it. You are going to need a tranny though and that is going to run you close if not more than what you might pay for the motor. Good luck though.

we need more info...... what exactly are you getting???

if your ex is stock, which i assume it is, you'll need axles, int. shaft, mounts, ecu.... find out exactly what you're getting and answer the above questions and people will be able to give you better suggestions.

save up and get a complete change over from here

$800 for that seems a bit high seeing as though it may cost you more than that to get the rest of the parts

did you put the response to my question in your signature?

Is this a complete swap or just an engine and tranny? If it is a complete swap, then that is a good deal. If it is just an engine and tranny, I don't know that I would bother with it.
