Too tight, they don't always close all the way & you can get burned valves & seats. You may not notice any symptoms until it's too late.

pop off your valve cover, get some feeler gauges, go through the procedures for each cyl. and make sure they're within specs -- then you won't have either extreme.
have fun

When your valves are too loose your car may sound like a diesel engine. If they are too tight you will notice the car will idle rough and check engine light will probably occur depending on year. You will hear the valves more in the morning even if they are properly adjusted due to the fact that it is a mechanical valve train and the clearance is there for thermal expansion. Hence why they quiet down when warm.

I have a 98 accord 4-cyl. with a slight vibration at idle only. The car has 108k and the problem did not occur until i changed the timing belt and balancer belts. The honda dealership says everything is normal! But, this slight idle vibration especially on the steering wheel is driving me nuts. The idle vibration is worse in the mornings but gets better as you drive the car. Could this still be a valve clearence problem or normal behavior of honda motors? Would the check engine light come on with my car if valves are too tight? The problem was not there prior to the timing belt and balancer belt operation.

well, when you steering wheel is shaking,it could be the suspension too.
axle, tire balance, etc

most of the honda are mechanical, very simply to adjust, screwdriver, combination wrench and feeder gauge.

100k sounds like you will need one done

I have some paint out for my accord f23 if anyone interest i'll post them

dont forget to do it within the temp. range, tdc, the pattern to remove and reinstall the bolts for valve cover, oil the thread and torque down, etc

One question- were there any other repairs made at the time of the t-belt? If not might be that one of the balancers is off. That is a possibility. Or you may have something else going on drivability wise.
