Ok I am gonna take out my busted up a/c controls tommorow my roomate is gonna take his CNC machine and make metal plate to match it exactly .....I am thinking then I can just fit it over and glue all the pieces together making a new control plate and wont break.....if anyone else would be interested I could have him make a cpl....Im gonna get mine powder coated black so it will match the interior...pls PM or post on here if interested.
that sounds cool but too much work involved... i superglued mine and duct taped the hell out of it... worked like a charm
hehe, i'm putting one from a 90-93 accord in mine right now, i just need the fan switch and the harrness, then wire it in, ive already figured out the mounting and cable issues... i'll post up pics when its all working

Not really anywork....it'll takem like 15minutes on the CNC machine and it will be better then ever and Im sure it'll look betta then ductape....no real fabrication required...Ill post pics if I get it done tommorow.
I've already done that, though I did not use metal.
To cut such thin strips in metal on a mill is a PITA. (Clamping & holding)
I used a piece of Black "engravoply", that's the stuff they make those plastic signs out of. Lasts forever, looks original. (the bad - 1/16" thick - ain't no thinner stuff around)
And I didn't use the new "face" to hold the controls together structurally, I epoxied the unit back together, and just put the new face on with a few small dabs of silicone.
No pictures yet, but I'll snap some later this afternoon.
The friggin' thing looks as good and works as good as new.
Let me see the powder coated metal ones as soon as they are finished!

If it looks like what I think it will, I'm in!
Need pics though, and if you made a version w/ holes for 1/4-DIN or 2-1/16 guages that would be cool too.

Sorry about the 24 hr delay.
Anyway, here's a few shots, not the greatest quality, and I didn't bother to clean the dash first.
Considering that this heater control was in 3 pieces, I think they now look beautiful!

this is what it will look like
for the fan switch you can use a switch from a 94-97 accord or one from a 88-91 plelude. minor rewiring required.
