Default Why is this happening?

Ever since I got my car its had some power problems but it was no big deal since I dont drive it yet. The problem is that the battery dies every 40 min and I have to bring it inside and charge it. I just swapped out my stock d16 engine and it ran fine and held up for the 2hour drive home. SO I swapped my engine for a jdm zc and this problem started happening so I figures my stock Si alt would be a good idea to change that since I knew it worked. STILL battery dies very fast!!!

All I have right now is a Blupunkt Deck and the stock front speakers. When I turn the volume up past 1/2 way (35 volume on mine) it start skipping and say I turn the lights on the cd player will momentarily shut off, and my sunroof has trouble openning and closing.

I dont know wtf is up and Im about to install a pretty big power drawing system and a tv so I need to solve this. What could it be?

My battery looks fairly old so Im thinking that may be the culprit. Hoping the things I described will help someone who knows bout this stuff help me out.

Thanks for the help and bare with the long post

First of all, get a multimeter and check the voltage at the battery terminals while the car is running. Then we can go from there.

Another question, if i charge my battery it should be full right? or does a bad battery not hold any power any more no matter how long you charge it?

batteries, when very old, cannot hold a charge very well at all. and overcharging a battery doesnt do it any good. get it tested for free somewhere and if its bad get a new battery. plain and simple.
