Okay, we performed a mini-me swap on my friends 99civic dx ... We finally got him a ecu but when you ride down the road ... The ecu wont let him rev past 5500 but at a dead stop it will let him rev past 5500 . This only happens with the vtec ecu not the non vtec ecu... So whats the problem ?

What engine did you swap in?

 

same thing happened to me after my auto to manual swap......... fixed it some how..... can't remember exactly how.... but it didn't have anything to do with my ecu.......... i was running the auto ecu with the manual tranny..... getting a couple of codes but no rev limiter.........

after reading.......... works well with non-vtec ecu but rev limit with vtec ecu.................. wiring or bad vtec ecu

 

stock block with d16z6 head ... I guess the ecu is bad thats all I can think of .. NO CEL CODES either... ******* beats me
