Custom Gauge Clusters... Anyone have pictures to share?
I"m looking for ideas on how to construct a gauge cluster for my 3rd gen integra. It'll be comprised of AutoMeter gauges but I am clueless as how I should go about constructing the assembly. It has to be solid... can't have gauges falling out or coming loose after a week or a year or whatever. anyone have some ideas?
-Erik
ps- at hot import nights... last year... in atlanta.... a shop in ATL had a black integra flamed with a cage, almost fully assembled bic1 turbo motor, and had what i'm trying to make... anyone know about that?

where would u re-locate those buttons then?

I've got the autometer gauge bezel which i would like to use in addition to whatever it is that i make.
the cc and dimmer switch locations are in use by my ricer start button and an autometer clock. you can't really see these locations very well so i didn't want any vital gauges placed there.
what i'm trying to design would actually replace the cluster. the idea is a carbon fiber, tin, aluminum, ss, or abs plastic assembly containing an autometer speedometer, autometer fuel level gauge, autometer oil temp gauge, and autometer volt meter. the autometer bezel is housing my a/f and boost gauges currently and the idea of cramming all those gauges in my "new" cluster would be insane.
-Erik <-- who's looking for suggestions

short out the dimmer switch... that will yield the brightest setting which is what most people keep it set to anyway.
cruise control is overrated... but if you have it, you can turn on (or short) the cc button and just toss it back in the dash. hold it in place with some zip ties and you'll be good to go. there is plenty of room.
you do have to do some trimming to put your gauges in those locations.... keep that in mind...

This is my cluster pic above posted - The reason as asked before why i didnt put the gauges in the cruise and dimmer are for 2 reasons:
1. I actually use the cruise for long trips every other day or so.
2. Have you ever sat where you normally do and try and read the a/f gauge in the cruise spot? Its almost impossible if your actually trying to tune - but if you want it for colors ... go for it - same goes for oil pressure
- I like all the gauges controls where i got them. Can view and make sure everything is working properly without having to move my head around the dash looking for them - while driving.
- the only reason cruise/dimmer look so available to putz with is because the steering wheel is tilted completely down.

if anyone knows the dude that works at Madhavi or NOPI or whatever with the flamed black turbo integra, tell him to post in my thread. I know he can help me or at least point me in the right direction.
thanks
