Default ITR Rear sway bar - Anyone install one on their DC2?

Hello,

Iam attempting to install one on my GSR but the bracket that goes over the large bushing is too small and will not extend over the bushing to the frame. It fits over the bushing (u shape bracket) but the piece is not deep enough to extend to the frame.

I called the Acura dealer and they will be sending another part but Iam worried that I may have the same problem.

Has anyone done this on their GSR without problems? If so, anyone have pics or a part # of the correct bracket that is deep enough to extend onto the bolt holes?

TIA.

you need to have the right mounting kit in order for it to fit. i suggest Beak's or BSQ's mounting kit. here's the instructions on how to install it and make one yourself or order a kit from him:

ITR rear sway has been on with the bsq kit, for about 3 or so years now no problems. Best suspension mod for the money ever!

My Beaks kit is great. He's local too so I didnt have to pay for shipping or anything. Those damn spot welded nuts though, even after drilling through and all that chiseling, its still a lot of bad words, and yelling.

guys with the itr rear sway,

have you noticed that your end link bushings are wearing away quickly or are cracking. I noticed mine are wearing out and would require replacement soon. I wondered whether i should get one that would fit an ITR or get an LS/RS/gsr equivalent... any thoughts?

Sheesh, Honda really wanted people to not have Type-R parts on their DC2s. I tried to install the rear trunk bar, rear lower tie bar with no sucess.

But do you have to drill into the frame or just bolt to the stock locations with the kit?

I'll give the kit a shot, guys. Thanks for the tips.

I have a JDM ITR rear sway bar and the ITR inside Trunk bar installed, Small problems had come up in the install process but worked out very easily.
Yes, The trunk bar will have to be installed by drilling into your sub-frame, But take your time...measure twice and drill once.
It took a total of 25 minutes to install the ITR trunk bar and severial hours for the ITR Swaybar.
If you need help, PM me and I'll walk you through it if not installed already.
Peace

there was someone on Honda-Tech that had a ITR rear sway bar installed and used a BSQ kit... even with the BSQ kit he tore out his sub frame!
