Default My new Turbo ITR setup..

OK. This is the 1st time I'm posting my setup after being boosted for about 6 mths as I was hounded with problems with the setup so I thought I'll do it once all issues are ironed out. I had bolts working loose and snapping on me, exhaust leaks, oil leaks, erratic boost, the car just wasn't running right from day 1 since I let those grease monkeys loose on my car putting the kit on for me....The car dyno'd at 239hp at 6.5psi with hardly any tq increase from stock at the time, this says it all really.

Since then I had pretty much stripped the kit over the number of mths as problems arise to resolve each issue. I knew I should have installed it myself What do we pay those monkeys for !!!

Anyway, this is the pic of my old engine bay.

While I was waiting for a new exhaust mani flange to come (weeks of waiting, long story), I thought I'll might as well wave my magic wand and add some Bling factor to it and heres the result. Its worth the wait...

Heres pic of my new engine bay now.

Look at that polished mani going all gold on me

I'd just serviced the car today and she runs like a champ! Been out briefly to street tune with my WB and afr is between 11.8-12.5. She hits warp speed above 6krpm It was just a quick tune with me keeping an eye on my WB (as well as on the road, whoops!) as I couldn't get the RPM scale on the datalogging software to work Until I figure it out this should suffice. So if anyone out there is using/have used the Techedge WB's Labview 6.1 ver101b software please let me know how you can enable the RPM/Pulses Per Rev to work! TIA.

The power is currently at around 300hp @ 9-10psi. I said 'around' as I have not dyno'd it yet. This is what my Rev/Speed meter is registering (Just over 300hp) and its pretty accurate as I've compared it with dyno'd figures before. I will dyno it once I get my standalone setup as I'm still undecided between Hondata and Power FC.

Heres my setup:

Stock B18C6
Garrett T3/T04e 60 trim 63a/r stg 3
Maxrev mani
Maxrev FMIC
Tial 35mm
Stock fpr
Stock fuel pump
Blitx SUS intake
HKS SSQV
2.5"-3" custom downpipe
3" straight through custom ext system mated to HKS carbon/Ti muffler
VAFC
500cc

Not sure if I left anything out....

Next mod will be standalone, pistons, rods fueling upgrade and aiming for 400+whp

Steve.

I don't think you'll have that much trouble getting 400. Hope you get there soon! Nice ******* car btw.

Looks good, I really like your valve cover.

But I think you need some more gauges.

Thx for all the props.

I'm in the UK and we have 98 Octane fuel here. I don't know if the rating is the same as in the US. Our normal unleaded fuel is 95RON, super unleaded is 97RON and Shell Optimax (which is what I use) is rated at 98RON. I wish we get 100 Octane like in Japan.

Sweet car. Where abouts are you in the UK? I am in kent. Also check the TV ads, have seen an ad for the BP ultimate fuel (100 octane). So it must be hitting our shores soon. Hopefully that will give my JDM ITR a tad more punch.

Ian, the 100ron is a rumour. Its actually going to be 98ron same as Optimax I'm in SE London not too far from you in Kent.

RTW DC2, the display shown is optional. They are working on a new display for this unit.

Damn!! U got an eye for everything! Did u use a microscope for that? Well spotted! The car is actually a GSR.......j/k

No. I've got reverse indiglo EL dials and they don't make it for the Type-R so I had to use the GSR one . The revs doesn't bother me as much as I don't need to rev that high anymore as you would know but what does bother me is the top speed tops out at 150mph I was up against 2 M3s and 2 Evo VIs on the highway and it went off the scale so I don't know how fast I was going...

Hows yours running? I might be going to SEMA too, so can hook up if you're going too.
