Thanks to Smitdog for his advice on how to paint the wheels. Thanks to R-Crew for the wheels and thanks to Home Depot for everything else.
After driving with the painted wheels for a couple days I noticed a couple more things. You really have to make sure that you rough up the paint really well on the face of the wheel around the lugs. I guess I didn't rough up one of the wheels enough and it seems like the paint isn't completely sticking to the wheel. I will probably have to redo it when I take the tires off.
The last post I made had tips, but here are the pics I promised.

They were white. If I had the gunmetal ones I would have left them alone. I spent a couple months trying to find ones in good condition, so I gave up and decided to buy some whites and paint them.

These are just the street wheels anyway. I'd rather have something that I didn't have to clean. The car is also less flashy at night, which is a plus. I guess if I could do any other color it would be the stock gunmetal, but does anyone know a place in norcal that does powdercoating for cheap?

Ruined
How is it even close to being ruined.. b/c its not gunmetal the color that everyone is whoring??
I think your wheels look bad ***, no matter what these guys says.. wheels are wheels.. its preference of color, and there's nothing wrong w/ painting them black.
I've had 2 sets of black wheels black on black is nice its stealthy and gives it an aggressive look

get another car for daytime commuting.
btw: i really respect your choice to run those spg buckets, i have one for my drivers seat. i'd run a passenger one too but i apparantly know too many plumpers, now i'm thinking about just removing the passenger seat alltogether, less liability and distraction when driving alone.
