dumb question about the oil dip stick

from the top mark, to the bottom mark on the dipstick, does that indicate 1 quart of oil?

Yeah I had nothing on the dipstick before.. not after 600 miles though haha more like 1500 or so.. Hell my vtec went away! Oh well ran home and got some oil in the baby quickstyle..

yeah, and you would think my car smoked a lot too But it doesnt, and thats whats so strange to me. The only time it ever puffs is when I downshift HARD, or romp on the gas hard in 1st. And over this past 600 miles, I hardly did any of that and still lost that much oil. Oh well Ill worry about it this winter after Lime Rock.
