@ Roebling going into turn 1 I nailed the brakes. almost hit the car infront of me. Car was like driving on a squre.. When I got to the pits I measured it and i hd a lovely 12" long flatspot! But nothing like that.. Just down to the steel belt

they started with a spot like yours from turn one in the start, I just stayed out on them to try to finish the race...I didn't....damn flatspots always stop on the same exact spot. I made it to 25 min into a 30 minute race...and got a good shoulder workout! and people say nothing in racing is for free...

A few years ago when I was at Lime Rock for a driver's school, a guy in a heavily modified 944 turbo did much worse. He was running Hoosiers and using the ABS going into turns. He got on the brakes for Big Bend, the ABS failed, and he locked up the front and just kept the brakes on until he stopped with both fronts flat. When his car came in, both tires had come off the bead and I could reach inside one of them through the hole. He relied on the car to be fast and had no idea what to do when it had a problem. He would not let them tow his car and had someone get two extra tires from the pits and changed them there, on track. People were not happy with him.
