Default NASA-VA at Summit Point Nov 1, 2

Here is the current count for HC Racing at Summit Point for Nov 1, 2:

11/1/2003 Honda Chal 1 3
11/1/2003 Honda Chal 2 2
11/1/2003 Honda Chal 3 2
11/1/2003 Honda Chal 4 3
11/1/2003 Honda Chal 5 1

HPDE 1 and HPDE 2 are full with long wait lists. HPDE 3 still has a few spots so register quickly! E-mail me to be put on wait list or you may take your chances and show up at the track hoping for a no show. We still need a few more instructors so sign up today!

Hotel: If you mention NASA and Summit Point, the room rate at Shoney's Inn in Winchester is $52. Phone number is 540-665-1700. Please be on your best behavior since for our last two events at Summit, there have been a few complaints of noise. The overnight staff was not sure if the noise was from our people or not, but we want to keep getting these good rates!

I will be sending out the schedule and more information by the end of the week. See everyone soon,

Laura Cobetto, NASA-VA Registrar

Northgate Inn also gives special rates if your staying for a summit point event. It's $49 per night and that includes tax.

well....since we completely blew the budget for this year already....i don't see dave or myself coming up with the $$$bling$$$ to finish the season....i believe we will be there for the festivities....so if someone will be willing to let me drive their car...well i might be able to do that!

No, especially for Summit. Less surprising at a track like CMP or Lowes.

Beno will be there with Whitaker's 3rd gen. Civic, taking his Comp School. Things should be better next year.

No cold weather clothes needed I think. Supossed to be 75 all weekend with lows at night of 50.

The schedule lists two group 2 races on Saturday. Does anybody know which of those is supposed to be group 1? Also, is the group 1 field going to be as large as it seems?

I'm sure the second race is group 1, since group 2 goes before group 1 for practice and qualifying. They keep the order consistent so everybody has time to work on their cars between sessions.

I haven't seen the registration list, so I don't know how bad group 1 is going to be, but I've seen races at Summit with over 10 spec RX7s, around 10 SMs, etc. My guess is that the field will end up around 35 to 40 cars - which means the front running H1 cars (which probably won't include me), will be catching lap traffic by around lap 3 or 4.

We also have Legends, PSU 1-3 and RSR. Not sure how large those fields will be.

OT: Anyone heading to Summit happen to have an extra GC perch lying around? I need to buy one.
