CRX Si/HF
I'm looking to pick up a CRX, whats the difference between the Si's and the HF's? This is going to be my daily driver/beater. What i'm basically wondering about is the features like Power Steering and AC. Also, are the different models better for swapping and such?
The HF is the low end model gets the best gas millage but the least ammount of options... The Si gives you the most options and includes a Sunroof for the 91 model i don't know much beyond that. My owners manual also lists a third thats listed as just CRX no HF/Si and it gives you a majority of the options minus the Sunroof. And you will more than likely want to find one with A/C I used to live in Tracy, CA unless you know what its like without it get it.
Neither the Si or HF or any crx for that matter came with power steering.
If its a daily driver, I'd go for the Si, especially a 90-91 cause of mainly the rear disc brakes and a few other little things like nicer front bumpers and better looking taillights and seats.
Although I do really miss my old 88 Si. 2017 lbs stock and with a b16 and bolt ons, that car really moved.

Yea its gonna be my daily driver, then eventually probably sometime early next year i'm gonna be looking to do a swap. So should I go with the Si in terms of daily driver and eventual swap? Is there a better model to get for a swap?
The car's light so it doesn't need P/S.... The 90-91 had the disks in the back and 90-91 are the better year to get how ever if you don't want door mounted seat belts then get the 88-89. (no disks)....... There's also a DX where it had the middle options and was MPFI and not DPFI or something like that.

dx has dpfi (really shitty way of injecting fuel) and the si and hf have mpfi(much much better)
90-91 have rear disc , nicer seats(Si)
88-89 are lighter and most have the seatbelts not on the doors (although my 89 si has setabelts on the door)

Well I don't really plan on swapping right away, this is going to be something that i'm going to be doing later on as a project. So it's going to be having the stock motor for a while.
even though you are swapping later i still would consider the hf. most people who really want a light car go with the hf and for those that went with the si plug the roof. that will just save you some money in the long run. i bought an hf and i love it. even if you get the si you really aren't going to be "fast" so who cares. i find the hf seats comfy so no problem there unless you just like the look. then you can just buy some si seats. and really the rear brakes dont do all that much and if you ever did swap you would want to upgrade the fronts when you complete your swap. really its all in how much you want to end up spending in the long run. if you want to have the higher model crx because it is an si go for it, but if you want something that works and can be modified to be better go with the hf. you got to love the hf's light weight anyways.
I had a 88 HF and i loved it. I also had a 88 DX and itwas ok. Now i got a 89 Si, and the stock motor has a lot of power. I had all kind of different motor set ups before, but the stock Si motor is a lot more powerful than most people know. With the stock Si motor you will be fast, but just not fast enough. But the stock motor is fast.
for basic swaps the si is easier no matter what anyone says, you dont hafta worry about swapping the front knuckles....
although it doesnt really hurt to swap the front knuckles on either car to the bigger integra brakes

I just picked up my second 1990 Honda Crx si today. I had a black 91 crx si before a long time ago, but I had to get another one, I missed it so much. The car is hella fun. I enjoy having a sunroof in that car and all of its options. Car has lots of juice to. It picks up really good. Mine will be getting a type r swap in 6 months or so. I'll post pics when I get a digi cam.
