Default My R for sale...

Sorry, I know this isn't the classified. But I just wanted to spark some interest for my car.

Here's a little detail. It's 2000 Pheonix Yellow Type R. #596. Just a bit over 34000 miles. Price is $23500.

For a list of things that will come with the car, please click below on my signature.

or for the lazy people... http://www.geocities.com/giffchan/homepage.html

for the people wondering why i'm selling. i've replaced it with another honda. much faster, much more physical, and extremely more exciting as a track vehicle.

here's a pic for you curious people...

Just some constructive criticism -- i think you should try and sell as many aftermarket parts off the car as you can. You will be better off in the end financially. I highly doubt you will get what you want ($23,500) with those parts on it.

I am not trying to hi-jack your thread just giving you a heads up. I just sold my R this week. Had over $8,000 in modifications at one point. No one wanted it like that at all (it was for sale like this for over 3 months). I put it back fairly close to stock and it sold within 2 weeks. Go figure! So i am speaking with experience here if you want to be better off financially.

Heck, you might find that one buyer who sees value in all that you have added to your car

Good luck either way in selling your vehicle. I hope you get what you want for it

Yeah it's always better to part it out as much as possible.. Maybe you should have PM'd this information to him instead of putting it in his post..

thanks for the advice guys. as you can see, it has very basic mods left in the list on my website. i already sold off most of the other parts. i think 23500 is a reasonable price in socal. this is from comparing other R's being sold in socal. i've seen prices for stock R in socal ranging from 19000-21000 with 50000 plus miles! the oem jdm front end w/ HID plus the low mileage and other spoon goodies is definitely worth the difference. that's just my opinion though.

here is one example... http://www.cars.com/search/use...=null

i checked on recycler and there is only 1 type R within a 500 miles from me. this one car is being sold for 19500 w/ 5x,xxx miles, completely stock. you guys can verify yourself. my zip is 91770.

i would suggest somebody to go purchase the 19500 ITR above if they can't afford my car. it will also help me eliminate some competition

That is greatly misleading, i recently purchased a type r in socal. It is same color and year as yours. Stock for a little under 19000 with about 23000 miles. If people are charging 19000-23000 for a 50k+ miles type r, that is a rip. Nevertheless, i do agree that the jdm front end and spoon items are worth the difference. Therefore, I am not going to argue about your price. But I have to agree with the others that you should part out the car more, to sell it quicker. Nonetheless, I wish you the best of luck with the sale of your type r.

not being a dick, but buying a bike is way to dangerous, i don think it should be your only means of transportation. I lost a close friend from bikes so im kinda an anti-bike, but thats my 2 cents.

CBR 600RR? Hehehehe...Nice choice.

Let me warn you though, don't plan on long trips with that thing. The riding position is seriously made for track only. That's one major reason why I'm probably getting an R6 instead of the RR. I needed something that was more of an all around bike. But be super careful on that thing. I'm not questioning your riding abilities, but I do question the intelligence level of drivers on the road. I almost got hit the other day coming to a stop at a stop sign. Driver decided that I was too slow and as I was leaving the stop sign, he decided to do the same. Luckily I anticipated his actions and avoided a serious collision.

As for the car. Yes you might have better luck converting most parts back to OEM specs and selling the car for much lesser. Then again, there might be someone out there who just wants to purchase a complete car.

i guess nobody really read what i wrote about the bike? "i've replaced it with another honda. much faster, much more physical, and extremely more exciting as a track vehicle." did anybody miss the word TRACK VEHICLE? i think so, at least for the people who have been replying

as for the bike being unsafe. i highly agree because there is hardly any protection available. my uncle has been racing bikes for a while. he's 50 plus years old. he's had a couple wrecks on the track and he's gotten out of it each time. a car, or any of my 2 shifter karts i own are as dangerous. shifter karts have no sorta of protection either. the babies i own are nice little two strokers and can out run any street legal car on the track. if you see the avatar on my left, that's the engine. you can imagine how dangerous those tiny things can be.

i figure nobody is going to really read the words on this reply either. so i'm going to have more smart asses replying about something else.

thank you len, sonic, and the others who actually read what i wrote. also thank you for everybody being concerned about riding a motorcycle. i've been hit by a car before. so i know how dangerous it can be to ride on the streets. i guess i can compare these idiot drivers who don't pay attention on the road with the idiot readers on this forum. but that would be a fallacy, wouldn't it?

len - i bought the 600RR as a track bike. so i'm not really worrying about comfortability.

as for the other people talking about rain? i guess i won't goto the track when it's raining. but i think rain improves a rider or driver on the track.

lastly, i thought this thread was about me selling my R? so back to the subject. let me quote myself again for the people who cannot read, "i already sold off most of the other parts." i left out, "i deciced to leave the rest on." i thought that wasn't needed as the first phrase basically means that in a way. as for the price. i think most would think it's reasonable price. i do agree it would be much easier to sell if stock. but it's very time consuming and a waste of money to take off the jdm front end.

now that you guys understand my position. maybe somebody who is interested in the car can now reply to the thread, IM me, or email me.

yes, yes, yes, i didn't forget the other type of smart asses who are going to say, it's a free country. this web board is a public domain. so you can reply and say anything you like. but WOULD YOU PLEASE READ FIRST??? i thought we all learned the art of reading in school? that's all i want to ask from you guys. read, so we don't have so many damn ignorant posts.

sorry if i sound really pissed. i've had a bad week with people who just aren't educated enough.

oh i left out one person, cryptikman - do you really think it's misleading? if so please post links for sale type R's in socal that has been sold as of yesterday. i say yesterday because i posted yesterday. i searched recycler within a 500 miles distance and only found that one type R for sale. i'm only stating the facts. this is what i found on recycler. i don't have the time to look on every classified for every R in socal. sure there could be cheaper ones. i would like people to post it on this thread to correct me. but the car should be selling now since the people in the market for an R would be buying it now. not sales that has occured before. i know another person who is selling his R for 25000. he's a well respected person on this board and he's selling it discreetly unlike me. i think i should have done that instead of posting onto such a board with so many intelligent people. i'm not going to disclose his name because you guys will bash him for selling his R at this price. i think he figured it out, and i didn't. i learn from my mistakes. i really don't think i will return to this board after i sell this R. i'm not saying all the people here are like this. i have met some really amazing people here. i have also learned a lot since i've been here.

anyways, i'm so glad i let off this steam. i probably helped some people, probably pissed off some people. but oh well. that's life isn't it?

i'm over joyed with happiness now. i think people read what i wrote this time because there are no more ignorant replies.

but i figure there is nobody in the market for the R now? whoever's interested don't be scared of my last post. the car is still for sale.

for the people asking me to part out some of the parts. i would have to sell the car first before i can decide if there is anything left over to part out that the new owner doesn't want.

i do have spoon calipers driven for around 5000 miles, some toda GEN II cam gears which are BRAND NEW, a cobra suzuka bucket seat which is also BRAND NEW. other stuff i can't think off my head, and also the parts listed in my signature.
