Info Required - Australian Type R
Hi,
Need a bit of info about the Aussie Type R immobilisers, to help my EG Civic conversion progress. I now believe the Australian immobilzer is differnet to the US version.
Is there part of the immobilizer on the keyring? The actual key just looks normal to me.
There are two Blue/White wires attached to a switch which closes when the key is inserted, but does not seem to contact the key anywhere. Maybe this ties into the airbag or so you can't lock your keys in the car.
There is a black plastic shroud around the keyhole, with a Yellow wire and a White wire coming from this. Maybe this is for a Passive Immobilizer hanging off the keyring.
What does it plug into. Can someone remove a cover and see what I'm missing? I don't understand where the wire comes from to go into the ECU. I can't see the donor car as it is half way across the country in a Wreckers (I'll learn from this experience)
Thanks for any help you guys can give.
Cheers
Al.
