Default whirring with clutch in.

i own a 1990 honda accord dx.
.
i've noticed a pretty loud whirring sound, when the car is in gear with the clutch in. it only happens when you put the clutch in after it's been in the gear...and there's no sound when it's in nuetral
.
it was in a minor head on collision [when it was parked]...and i've noticed the sound has increased since then.
.
any ideas? i'm sure this has been discussed before, but i searched & didn't come up with anything.
i'm actually trying to sell it right now, but i'm interested in what the sound could be
.
thanks, i appreciate it.
tifish.

I think this is normal while the car is in neutral. As long as it doesn't make noise while it's in gearl

if its only making noise when you have the clutch pressed in, it could possibly be the throw out bearing going out on you.

I agree, that sounds like a throw out bearing and to replace it is pretty much like replacing a cluthch except you are only replacing the trouw out bearing and not the clutch but you might as well replace the clutch while you have everything apart if you can afford it.
