power enterprise oil filter
nothing wrong with oem or HAMP...just found this new "jdm" bling bling filter that comes magnetized. It's a little more expensive than HAMP filters and just wondering if anyone actually uses these. Power Enterprise is the company that also makes the ever popular timing belts for our cars.
It's got a magnet in the CENTER of the filter so it holds the metallic impurities in the center. We use them on our race GTR's and such. When we cut them open, we are impressed with the quality of the construction, as well as how much stuff that magnet in the center actually traps. For us, it's money worth spent. IMO, why skimp out on "cheap" stuff on an expensive motor... PE Oil Filters

you can always strap a magnet around the OEM filter. It would most likely do the same trick. But to answer your question, i've never heard of power enterprise oil filters.

exactly, so if you're strict about doing that, you really wouldnt need a fancy filter, would you?

I've talked to some people about that. Their theories state that the magnet draws the particles to one side of the housing. The Power's filter has the magnet in the center of it. Supposedly, the engine oil flows through the center hole first, and then through the element, and returns back through the holes around the perimeter.

I don't think you'll notice the difference power wise. You'll notice a difference if you cut the filters open and see how much the Power's one traps vs. how much an OEM filter traps.

The magnet may dislodge itself from the filter and find its way into the engine.
The filters are only $20.00 MSRP. I'm sure if you look around, you'll find retailers selling it for less. RB Motoring Co. in the City of Industry, CA (www.rbmotoring.com) can point you to one of their dealers (US Distributors of Power Enterprise Products)

LOL When I said small magnet, I meant small enough to fit in the filter but not small enough to fit through the filter cage.
As long as its bigger than the holes of the filter cage, it cant go anywhere. I can buy 4 or more honda filters for the price of one of the Power ones.
