Jdm EF9 front / fenders,moldings?
ok i got a 89 ef and i got a jdm front end with no fenders..i want to keep the 89 style moldings, but i dont like how the 89 fenders line up/look with the rest of the car..so im going to get 91 fenders ,but can i use 89 moldings on the 91 fenders...will they look/fit right?
thanks for the help.
also...will the 91 si front lip fit on the EF9 front bumper? im pretty sure it will but just want to make sure.
thanks

i dont recall saying i wanted the EF9 sir moldings...and i dont think they are the same as the usdm si moldings...they are thinner. 88-89 and 90-91 moldings are different also..i want to stick with 88-89 style moldings...i just want to know if they will look right on the 90-91 fenders.
and i would like to know if the 90-91 usdm si front lip spoiler will fit on the jdm ef9 front bumper.
thanks

Lets keep this on topic ppl. The guy was asking about molding and a lip for his car, not having sex with car parts. Take that to IM's
As follows...
The USDM lip will not fit on the JDM bumper.
As for the moldings. Why not just keep your 88-89 fenders if you want the modlings?

ok to clear any misconceptions about hatchback fenders 88-91 fenders are the same moldings aside they are the same fender u can swap the molding and the plastic tabs for the corner lights and be set and if u do it right they will line up with the jdm sir front bumper and filler from a 91 i know from experience as for the jdm side molding i duno for sure but the crx ones are the same as the usdm crx ones so yeh i duno for sure....but fenders are the same 88-91 ive said this many times before

doesn't the ef9 come with moldings that have the red stripe in the middle?

the stripe is an option. its just a sticker anyways.....as for the sir molding for the ef9 they are similar to the ones on the 88-89 but the real ones are thin. the us ones are thick. thats it for now....

just a sticker? i thought the moldings themselves had indentations for the sticker to be placed...? or are the usdm 88-89 moldings like that too?

im going to use the sir filler piece.
yeah..i think im just gonna get the usdm fenders and run the 88-89 moldings..and still run the sir filler piece with that set-up.
i think there might be a slight difference in the 88-89 / 90-01 usdm fenders. for instance the 88-89 had the holes for the plastic clips so you could screw in the corner lights..the 90-91 didnt..and i think there might be a slight difference on the fender where it meets the corner of the bumper ...i dont know we will see when i get the fenders. ill let you all know if there is a difference.
jdmb16ahatch : did you use the 91 filler piece with the sir front/usdm fenders? if so got any pics?

u may be able to find pics of my car doin a search possibly i recently moved from NJ to FL have no pc andmy hatch is in NJ.....i had a 91 EF9 front clip with 88 usdm ds fender and 90 ps fender....there are holes for the clips on both the 88-89 and 90-91 fenders the 88 have different clips than the 90 using screws to hold the corner to the fender and 90 uses then slide clips to hold them to the fender with one single screw in the engine compartment....the filler will line up but one thing to remember is the jdm bumper mount sits further out than the usdm one so use it or washers to space the bumper correctly

so your car is RHD then?
so your car is RHD then?
no i did not do a rhd conversion it is a ED not a EF but i had a ef9 front clip and took the crap put it all on the ED and the jdm fenders i got with it happened to be ef8 fenders not ef9 fenders so i had to use the usdm fenders and they are the same as the jdm fenders but dont hae the side markers in them
