Default a bit OT : first time to the track and hit a 14.8 in the R... updated 10/22

well on my last run of the night at sac speedway i hit a 14.865 at 92.793 mph the only reason it was my last is that I broke out and went faster than the 15.0 i thought i would run.....my two previous runs were a 15.834 and a 15.361 Well for my first time at the track i was very happy with my 14 sec pass, hope to go next week and hit some even lower et's

my mods are:
aem cai
apexi n1 cat back
c's short shifter (and energy suspension)
Nitto 450 in 205/50/15

also my R has 34,000 miles on it

thats pretty good, right about where you should be. you might be able to shave off a couple tenths more though. 60ft is key

Work to get that 60' time down to 2.2 and you will see great times

how are you "launching" the car? Are you just dumping the clutch and spinning the tires? if so you need to feather the clutch more and dont spin the tires so much(if at all) and that will bring your 60ft down some. Hold revs at about 4-5K and when it gets to the last yellow bulb, let the clutch out slower and try not to smoke the tires.

Nitto drag radials? or street tires? If they are street tires Id probably run them around 15-18psi and heat them up some. It kinda depends on the conditions though and many street tires dont really get sticky no matter how much you heat them up.

the track should have an air station somewhere on premises so you dont have to drive home on low pressure.

Yea, those are pretty good.. the best I could do my first time was 15.1, but a trap of 93.xxx mph.... my launch times were horrendus... i wish i had my timeslip with me so i can get the exact 60 foot times, but they were pretty bad..

trap seems a little low, I think you should be around 94 mph..what was the altitude of the track?

Oh yeah slip the clutch more ~4K and spin the tires going up to the lights to get any stones, etc.. off you should be able to get a 2.1 60 and go mid 14s
