I’m sorry to hear about Hyperfest being cancelled. The California Speedway Hyperfest was the best race weekend I’ve had in a long time and I was really looking forward to doing it again. The spectators and vendors added a lot to the event, but the racing was also really good. It was the biggest H1 field that the west coast has seen yet. On Saturday the USTCC Hondas entered as H1 cars and it made for a very challenging race. Getting to race with guys like Lepper and Vanni was a blast. I wish NorCal & SoCal could race together all the time. It was good for the drivers and I think we put on a pretty good show too.
Of course it was fun for me since I won both rounds that weekend. But my lightweight little CRX had a big advantage at that tiny wannabe infield excuse for a racetrack. And Lepper not bothering to remove his 500 pounds of ballast for the race didn’t hurt either. But I’ll take the win! Chalk one up for SoCal.
So now we’re all towing up to NorCal’s home track next weekend. I went to Sears Point once a few years ago. From what I can remember it was a real monster of a track. I only got in a couple of sessions but I had a feeling it could become my favorite track. For me it’s worth the trip just to get to drive that course again. But being that this is a NorCal SoCal crossover event, it has the potential to be a very exciting rematch.
MY question is, who is going?
I’m going. I think Glen Kawano is going (with the DC mobile finally running right,) Sam Higashi (Endless/5 Zigen EG) is going. Other than that I’m not sure. Kiwi? Kiwi2? QE2? Varo? Bota? And From up north, are there any H1 guys up there or are you all hiding in the USTCC field? Anyway, I’m just curious to see what the race is going to look like. If you’re going, maybe put up a pic of your car so we all know who everybody is. I’d post a pic of my car but I’m not that talented. But it’s a gold CRX you cant miss it.

i'm going but i'll be there just to watch... you haven't been back to sears point in a couple of years huh?... well they just repaved it and now the paddock is HUGE and there's the grandstand of course... also on the back stretch there's seating along the hill side (turn 9) and there's seating along turn 7... good luck to all the WCHC and i'll see you guys out there!

 

I couldn't get off work to go up with you guys and take pics because I already have two weekends off in November (CART at Fontana, and Honda Challenge at Buttonwillow). So I will see you guys at Buttonwillow!

Hey Andy, I'll be there with the Accord. I'm going to run Saturday H-1 and Sunday USTCC. We will be pitting behind the grandstand. Come on over!

We'll be there... Hope to get in some track time on Friday? It's been a year already! Unfortunately, Shawn Bota won't be coming. If our #2 car had been ready we would have let him run that to help try and keep these pesky CRX's at bay! However we hav'nt been completely idle for the last two months... We may have some surprises???

Good, I'm glad to hear there will be a race up there.
Tom, if you do get in front of me please go on and catch Kiwi for me. The points race is coming down to the wire. I think I'd rather dice with the Accord, that Integra scares me.
Sorry to hear that Bota won't be there. It would be interesting to see how he'd do in a Kiwimobile.
OK, Outrun, I'll wait till Buttonwillow to take the Championship. I'll want to make sure the whole team is there anyway.
AZ would be a good road trip. If you can convince the rest of the field to go, I'm down.

Saw a friend of mine get hurt really bad at the track today. It's the first time I've seen that. It's not fair for that to happen to such a good person.

 

Hey dont forget that at the Cali Infield course some of the H4( ME, Ryan and Rich) cars gave some of H1 cars run for their money. It was a great race I will run with HC in november at buttonwillow. See you there.
