DC2-R vs DC5-R vs EP3-R....who's gonna win?
Aha!! I bet some of you already had archive links copied and ready to paste on here to shout at me: "search! n00b!".
But this is not your everyday car A vs car B thread. While Japanese tourist had their orgy trip, I attended the Type-R orgy party the very same week in Zhuhai International Raceway during my trip to China. It's the round 6&7 of the Hong Kong Super Touring Car Championship, with two classes of SuperTouring and 1600cc groups. The weird thing is, in both groups, although all other makes of cars were allowed, all you see are Hondas, guess they are the car of choice of them racers in HK for economical reasons...
In the Super Touring Group, they are mainly consisted of EP3, DC5 and DC2 Type-Rs. So who's gonna win the race?
First thing I spotted is this CTR....4 lugs?
Ah...the pit...anyone heard of this Pipercross CAI for DC2s? Manufacturered in UK.
EP3 Type mini-Van!
For some reason, Frosty Flakes comes to mind...
Interesting relocation of the wires...and, Motul CAI y0!
mini-mini van heading out to the grocery store...
yummy...DC5s...

DC2 vs DC5
#69....hmm, I wouldn't mind getting in to some 69 with the umbrella girl for the night as well..
D0pe!! Lined up at the wrong grid...
Ready for Warm up lap...
Standing still start....team AIA <an insurance company> has the lead..

....and he still has the lead for good into turn 3...where are the others?
ah...here they are, trailing 1/4 lap behind after 3 laps.
and suprisingly, another 1/4 lap behind are these guys. Due to some team playing "teamwork", they remain like that for the rest of the race.

Yup, yup, the AIA DC5-R won the race comfortably, with another DC5 being the runner-up. The CW DC2 left the race shortly due to technical issues, and the other DC2, well, as you can see in the pics, were dead last

I can't seem to find HTCC's homepage for the lap times, if anyone knows, please post them.

For 1600cc groups, it's much more expensive to get race parts from Toyota or Mitsubishi than Honda, there's Mirage & Levin Corolla attend sometimes ago, finally, most drivers change to Honda because they're fast & good in handling
By the way, the 50th Anniversay Macau Grand Prix will launch in mid Nov, it will be more fun.

I think those DC2s are just there to let new racers of the team to get track time, no way they can beat DC5s/EP3s giving the same mods. Well, beaten by DC5s arent so bad, at least not by Celicas
nice pic! i am always wondering about how difficult is zhuhai track. coz whenever i read some track day over there, it seem like there are always crazy story about car flip and bad accdient. make it look like hkese couldn't even drive.
anyway, i would say put a good 2.0 b18c(not stroke up one) motor in a dc2 and dc5 would have a hard time to win.
