i need help with putting transmission back on. damn it, it was so much easier taking it off. now i can't get the shaft to match up with the splines on the disk. i used a jack to jack it up to the height of the block and it just won't go in. tried turning the shaft a little and tried turning the crank pulley. i scratched the pressure plate up like a ************ and get it to go in easily. is it supposed to slide in easily? NEED HELP. THANKS IN ADV.
did you replace the clutch? if you did are you sure you lined up the disc properly with a clutch alignment tool? if not you better take it apart and try again......you will never get it on. you need the alignment tool.

yeah, i replaced the clutch. aligned with an ACT alignment tool as well. i think i aligned it correctly. i put the alignment tool in and the splines match up and reaches the pilot bearing. is this correct? any tips on how to make this procedure of putting the tranny back on easier. fucken 6 hrs of back breaking labor and couldn't get the tranny back on. for the most part, it was a fucken balancing act of trying to keep the tranny balanced on a piece of wood on the jack.
have a hard time seeing the shaft and the disk splines. does it normally just slide right in without struggle? thanks

Did you check to see that the clutch disc fit on the shaft easily before you installed it? Be sure the trans is in neutral- that helps SOME. SOmetimes thay can be a real bitch.
i have heard of some problems with ACT clutches having clearence problems with the splines on the disc fitting onto the splines of the input shaft of the tranny.
take it all apart again and make sure it does fit. you might have to take a file and file the splines on the disc or return it and get another.
one other reason i would never buy ACT.

a lot of times it's the angle of entry that throws it off, you might try getting bolts that match the tranny bolt threads but are longer, then insert them a a few different points to line up the tranny and slide in. Make sure you still use the jack to support the weight, just use the bolts to line it up. You'll get it on there.

thanks for all the help guys. i really appreciate it. i'll try all the things suggested above. i'm going to give it one more try with the bolts as suggested and if that doesn't work, i'm going to take the disk off and see if it fits. i'm thinking damn it, i should have paid someone to do this!
