Default tranny help!

ok, im installing a new clutch and i have already been through hell and back by the wrenching gods (wrong alignment tool, right tool arrives right on the first day of exam week...) and finally today exams were over and me and my friend will decided to finish the job. I have the clutch and flywheel installed on the block, but the tranny wont mock up to it. I took it out and tried to put it back on 6 times and even re-aligned the clutch to the flywheel but i cant seem to get the trannys input shaft to go in. i put the alignment tool next to the input shaft and they were the same size, so the shaft should slip in, right? I know its something in the middle cause the tranny seems to pivot on that spot when i try to wiggle it in. help me!!!!

did you test fit the clutch to the tranny shaft before you put it on the block?

no, i probably should have though. the alignment tool fits fine in the clutch (it should) and it seems to be the same size as the output shaft. I thought that might be the problem, but last night it was 1:30 and i was tired and i had already taken off the pressure plate once so i was too lazy to do it again. i think im gonna do that now. If it doesn't im gonna have a field day with fidanza seeing as i was already sent the wrong alignment tool!

Did you remove the passenger's side axle? Some guys swear you don't need to remove it when reinstalling the tranny, but its never worked for me.

both axels removed... pissed off... cant make it work. me and my dad tried **** for hours today untill i had to go do stuff. i seem to have tried everything but for some reason the input shaft just doesent want to go into the clutch disk/flywheel. At first i could get it close but now it seems like the tip of the shaft wont even go into the clutch disk. i dont know what im asking for, but i need help!

Pull the clutch back apart again. Test fit the clutch disc on the transmission input shaft, make sure it fits and slides freely. Also check that the pilot bearing fits the end of the input shaft.

what he said^^^ have you tired turning the crank pulley when you put the tranny on. sometimes that makes the difference of it going or not for me.

This probably seems obvious but have you put the tranny in neutral and rotated the input shaft to try to make the splines align with the clutch disc splines.
