Default OT: Wisconsin Ticket Question

I got a ticket back on January 7th of 2003. Never heard anything about it until now; I got a letter saying I have a court date set for 2/16/2004. Doesn't this kind of go against due process? A court date over a year later is kind of stretching it out.

I assume that you sent in the proper paperwork on time saying that you were fighting it?

I would think that's quite a bit of lapse in time...they are usually only like 3 or 4 months behind here in FL

What kind of ticket? That seems like an awfully long gap between citation & court date. I never had more than 3-4 months between.

Did the pre-trial hearing by phone and told them I was pleading not guilty. They offered $5 off the $213 fine, but I said no thanks, see you in court.

Speeding ticket, 15 over.

Searves you right for crossing the boarder and not driving slow in the left lane like everyone else in WI. What county was this in?

if you fight it they will want to rape you in the ***. Wisconsin thinks a speeding ticket is about the worst thing you could possibly do. If you got 5 dollars you should be happy. Wisconsin police suck

Some of us from Fargo have been pulled over in WI and the cop has required payment of the ticket on the spot with credit card or cash. Seems like bullshit. WI cops have always been ******** to us as well.

The last time they pulled one of my friends over he was doing 6 mph over the speedlimit.

it's all dependent on the court. some of the courts here in ny are speedy, get a ticket and in court within 2 months, wheras others take 1-2 years (bedford hills)

Must be because you're from out of state, I've never had that happen here.

I don't think it's limited to one particular state, you run in to ******* cops anywhere. I really have nothing bad to say about 95% of the cops that have pulled me over since I've gotten my drivers license.

due process and right to speedy trial dont count when it comes to traffic tickets. you are presumed guilty automatically and have no fair trial. your word against the cop, judge will side with the cop each and every time. your only chance is to bargain with the cop to get it reduced. you cant win. I have learned this the hard way.

Ryan, who hates tickets.

Fargo is that FING town on the way to Road America where the limit drops from 55 to 45. After ALMS a E46 M3 shot by me at around 100 going through Fargo, he must have thought Fargo can suck it.

I got a ticket on I-94 in Janesville(Rock County) for 72 in a 55 Construction zone, I was from out of state and I didnt have to pay anything on the spot. But when I went to court for it($225) he told me I had to pay the full amount after I pleaded no contest. What a dick

What is wrong with I-94??? Just set the cruise at 80 and keep it in the right line After all you are in WI and all the slower drivers are in the left lane.
