Will putting cheap coilovers at full height blow my shocks?
I got some cheap coilovers and was wondering if I'll blow my shocks even if they are at full height...will they?
*lowering springs are on the car now..so i hope these are a lil softer*

if they are close to stock ride hight they probley wont do anything but give a stiffer ride then stock. Its when ppl lower it and then ride on them for a long while that they blow them.

i don't really understand this? how does the ride height effect shock life?
i was thinking that the height wouldn't matter, and that simply increasing the spring rate for a stock shock with stock damping rates would over work the shock, leading to increased wear rates... i'm just thinking aloud
edit: maybe the decreased shock travel has some effect i didn't think about?

Your edit is right. The decreses shock travel and most slam there car, so the shock usually ends up bottoming out. Also since its lowered it would ride much stiffer with the higher spring rates and the no shock travel. Blowing shocks doesnt usaully happen right after someone would lower there car on stock springs. I know some that have gone a couple years and there shocks still work fine. (for now
)
If left at, or close, stock ride hieght the shock will not be compressed and or bottom out. The stiffer springs rates wont do much but give the car a stiffer ride.

If you wanna have a longer shock life with a lowered car, you'll have to spend a little more money, but it can be done. But back to the subject, it most likely wont blow your shocks if you're close to stock height.
