air box/intake question
I swapped a b18c1 into a civic cx without having the plastic air box and air channel from the stock gsr. so, of course i purchased a "cold air intake" jobber.
now so goes my question. there was a line that initially would have connected the air box/channel to the block. when i bought the intake/air filter the "performance guru" persuaded me that it was fine to cut this line and to top off each end section (the intake and the block) with breathers.
was this a decent suggestion, or one that i will regret?..i of course in the matter of time just listened to him and made the alteration. will there be any future problems or ramifications from not connecting the air filter/intake to the block?
thanks

connect the hose back up to the valve cover.....that's where it's supposed to be.....so leave it there.....i've heard bad things about using a breather....
that so called guru is on crack...there should be a hose that goes from the valve cover to your intake..if there is no place to connect the hose on your intake then you can put a breather on the valve cover or get or make an oil catch can, dont put a breather on your intake.lol..good luck
Don't put a breather on your valve cover, and an oil catch can goes between the PCV valve and the IM not the valve cover and the intake.
You need positive air flow into the crankcase (where the hose runs from the intake to the valve cover). Running a breather does not properly ventilate the crankcase and it will cause problems over time.

Why not use a catch can between the valve cover and Intake Mani? It would still allow air to flow but remove the oil that comes through to the intake(which is not supposed to happen actually)
