How hard is it to install a subwoofer?
I just bought a Alpine Type-S 12" subwoofer today with an enclosure and amp. How hard would it be to install it to my Pioneer DEH-2100 deck? What does it involve? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx.
It should be very easy. There is a gromet to the right and below your battery, that is where you should run your power wire. Poke a hole in that sucker and run it through. Your deck has an RCA output on it so thats no problem. Tap the remote wire onto the remote wire output on yur deck and yur set to go. Unless youve got some colossal amp my suggestion is to put it under the passenger seat. There it wont take up any space and is vitually theft proof unless they take your whole car, or unblot your seat and take it. That is where I have mine. Ive been doin this stuff for a living for about 3 years, I dont see any reason you shouldnt be able to handle it. Just take your time and be careful and everything should come out clean. Oh yeah, make sure you pull your seat and run our wire under the carpet. Had to throw that in there, youd be surprised what I see at work when people try to "do it yourself" Good luck, have fun, hope this helped you out a little.
