Default B16 idle Q's

My b16 has always idled almost perfect at 750. recently, the idle has started to fluctuate betwen random rpms and at random times. sometimes it will go between 1 and 2 grand right after I start it up...and then sometimes it will go between about 800 and 1200/1500 after it is warmed up for a while. usually it still idles fine, but this has been happening more and more of recent. I have done searches, but could not find anything specific to my case...I checked my vacuum hoses and they seem good...I know there are a bunch of things to check and replace(fast idle control, IAC, etc), but can anyone pinpoint this to a specific part or problem??(before I start buying stuff!!) Thanks!

Ok, I had this issue and it sort of went away after I did the following. First, I flushed the rad and then filled it again. Then I adjusted the Throttle cable so that it has a tad bit of slack and verified that all nuts where tight (key issue 1 for me) then I bleed all air out of the coolant system by taking a rubber hose and placing it back into the resovoir container. I used a 10mm wrench and began bleeding off the system. After that everything was fine.

my friend had this problem with his N/T '94 eclipse. the spring in the throttle body crapped out, causing him to idle at about half-WOT. It ended up costing him a new clutch, etc. I thought it was pretty funny that a $1 or so spring costed him over $400 in damage lol

try cleaning your IACV first with carb cleaner.

Thanks, I will get on those tasks asap...I was wondering what the coolant/ radiator has to do with my idle though. my car doesn't run hot or anything..
