question about converting my ls into a type R
Do the integra type r exhausts directly replace the ls's exhaust also what is involved in making my ls a vtec engine? Any help is greatly appreciated I love my car and am willing to do just about anything for it. I just don't know enough about these cars. Anyway thanks for the help.

I suggest a search on this topic, as it ahs been discussed quite a few times before. Ultimately what you're going to find is that it is most people's opinion (mine included, although I dont speak for EVERYONE) that if you wanted a type R, you should have saved up and bought one, as you can never fully convert an LS to a real ITR, you should just build your LS to be fast and nice, as opposed to turning it into soemthing its not.

boink- he has to get oem itr kit, engine, tranny, stickahs - o yes stickas, interior seats, tach, mats, computer -... but im sure you knew that ITR also have the sound deadening crap removed too ... and they have pretty farely unknown trunk brace inside hatch behind tailights and a few other parts as far as suspension - buy a ITR if ya want one - You will probably spend more on converting it fully than actually buying one - itr parts+ls chasis = bling blang

Thats my problem I got my ls for $5,000 with a clean title and only 45,000 mi. on it I couldn't afford any condition type r for that price. But if I can't have a type r conversion is there a way to make my engine VTEC so it will at least feel a little better?

One word my firend.... BOOST. If you don't think your car has the power than Turbo it and you will be satisfied until you upgrade to get more boost and so on. Dont try to make your car an ITR it is a waste of time. why all the money into having an ITR look alike. You could have a much nicer LS than type-r. Boost is the light so follow it.

1. Sell your car, and make money on the deal since you got it for so cheap.
2. Buy a GSR that is a couple of years older with the money from #1.

But this is a daily driver and I want it to last at least throughout college and I thought turbochargers hurt the engine thus reducing the life of your car.
But if turbos aren't that bad what kind should I get?

daily driver boost is ok - For long lasting it would have to be most likely a high quality kit. Also - keep car maintained shape - constantly keeping it good mechanical order - and never go above boost parameters (often overlooked ) - but truth of the matter is if you mod your car its probably not gonna have the longest life in the world (compared to a bone stock) - after all ... constant high revving day after day does add up. So if this car needs to last long you need to what kind of setup that will last long with it
TYpe-R ain't all that...you can setup your car to outperform a type-r easily with a few thousand bux...anyone that says otherwise is an idiot...type-r is only a big deal for riceboys and people that don't know anything about cars. It's good for collectors because it's a factory prepped car.

You're clearly extremely misinformed. I would be interested in seeing you take "a few thousand bucks" and build an LS that will outperform even a bone-stock ITR.

so im a riceboy and dont know anything about cars? ill out build cars over you anyday bro watch your wording .
anyway i do agree thats its not worth th emoney to convert. if you even want it semi close, with the prices of mods on top of what you paid for the car youll spend well over what you can get a used R for . **** the motor itself will set you back a nice penny , let alone the susp, the interior, the body work to mold over the holes in the doors from the moldings, alll the susp bars, and thne you still have the issue where the chassy wont be the same and what not , its just not worth it. for all that you coulda bought an R rolling chassy off ebya that was theft recovery or soomething and be closer with restoring it

Making an LS/VTEC or turbo is as relabile as you build it. Either one can have problems. There isnt a specific kind of turbo. It all depends on your goals for whp, tq, power band, how much boost you want to run.

It sounds like you want to turn your LS into an LS/Vtec (though nobody on this post has really given you a straight answer about that). I bought my Integra RS (same as the LS without the moonroof and a few standard options) just last March. My plan all along was to build my own Type R, or at least one that would look and feel similarly without spending the $$$ to buy an authentic one. My car had 9X,XXX miles on it, stock clutch, and next to no mods whatsoever. To date I've spent:
$1000 on 17" rims
$130 on a Neuspeed intake
$150 on H&R Sport Springs
$400 on a Type R spoiler/lip combo
$100 on a better-than-stock-without-being-a-coffee-can muffler
$3500 on a total engine tear-down and Ls/Vtec rebuild including new clutch and a B16 tranny
My car feels great, drives great, looks great (in my opinion) and beats Integra GSR's and even Type R's on the street.
Yes, maybe I could have found a used Type R for a little more than I spent on making my car the way it is, but I'll tell you one thing...I would never have had as much fun doing it as I have had building my car.
The choice is yours : If you are willing to invest time and money build your own Integra the way you want it. There's my 2cents. I think I'll go have a
