Default some ?'s about headwork and fi engines

as some of you know i will be doing a rebuild over the winter. i have some questions on heads. I heard that its wasted money with FI...is this true? im refering to a P&P with titanium valvetrain (to rev out to 9500). Also what is the difference between a 3 angle and 5 angle valvejob. what does it mean???

thanks

Landon

Keep it stock. Many people with 350+ whp with a stock head.

The angle of the valve job is how many anges are used to cut the seat to achieve a perfect seal with the back of the valve, imo any more than 3 is excessive, and sometimes uneccesary except in big race applications, most cases the typical 45 degree cut on the valve back and seat work just as well. How much hp are you planning to make with this engine? That will dicate what you do to the head.

I'd suggest the valvetrain...turbos love revs. Other than that, unless this is a race application, Id keep the head stock.

I have a fully worked head by DPR.

Keep it stock, it isn't worth it. Definitely upgrade your valve springs though, 8k comes way too fast in a turbo b series. Most turbo b series will make good power up to 9k even on stock cams.
